China goes nuclear
Mysterious oriental wisdom continues to evade Western intellectual elites: “Developing clean, low-carbon energy is [a] priority,” says Zhao Chengkun, [...] “Nuclear is recognized as the only energy source that can be used on a mass scale to achieve this.” http://bit.ly/fgI0f2
Wonder what Chinese anti-nuclear types whisper instead of "China syndrome"? "South Pacific" syndrome would be correct. (Our anti-nuclear types, ignoring geography, used "China" instead of "Indian Ocean").
It seems actually that a nuclear power plant meltdown would not make it to earth's core intact, let alone to the antipodes. But fantastical nightmares have more appeal than facts to some. They seem to believe strongly that such nightmares, assiduously propagated, will hasten the establishment of an, historically inevitable, wise and benevolent dictatorship of the proletariat.
